This section provides information for members who are considering leaving the LGPS while they are remaining in local government employment or those members who are considering retirement.

Opting out

If you are thinking of opting out of the LGPS, you can pay less and remain in the Scheme with the 50/50 section.

Nearing retirement

Information to prepare you for retirement, including when you can retire.

Leaving because of ill health

If you have to leave work due to illness at any age you may be able to receive immediate payment of your benefits.

Redundancy or efficiency

If you're aged 55 and made redundant or retired on business efficiency, your benefits could be paid immediately.
