After your divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership is completed:

• your ex-spouse or civil partner will no longer be entitled to a partner’s pension if you die before them
• if you previously nominated your former spouse or civil partner for any death grant benefits, you may wish to update this by completing a new Expression of Wish nomination
• any children’s pensions that are payable after you die are not affected by your divorce or dissolution.
