Pension legend on a bank note

Payment of your pension

Your first payment of pension is paid directly into your chosen bank or building society account at the same time as your lump sum. This special first payment covers the period from the date of your retirement to the end of the month and usually all of the following month.

Future payments will be made into your account on the last working day prior to the 11th of each month.

Your pension payslip

Merseyside Pension Fund does not normally send a payslip to you every month as, for the majority of pensioners, the amount paid each month does not alter significantly. You will receive a pay advice:

  • When you first retire
  • In May including your P60 certificate
  • In any month when your net pay varies by more than £10.00 from the previous month.

Find out about how the Pensions Increase is added to your pension.

Checking your payslip

You can view your monthly pension pay figures in the 'Payslips and P60s' section of your secure online MyPension account.

Your Pension number

All new pensioners have their own unique pension number. Your pension payroll number is on your pay advice slip.

Please quote your pension number when contacting us. This is to ensure we can identify your pension record.

Your P60

We send you a P60 at the end of each tax year in May. Your P60 shows the total pension we have paid you and the amount of tax (if any) we have deducted in that year. You must keep your P60 safe as we cannot provide replacement or duplicate copies, and you may need it for tax purposes.

If you need to reference details from your P60, you can view your annual P60 figures in the 'Payslips and P60s' section of your secure online MyPension account.
